S.01About
We returned more stock in year one than we sold. That is how the checklist started.

The first two years were a process of elimination. We returned more stock than we kept. A ribbed set that photographed beautifully pilled after three washes. A legging that lost its waistband tension by month two. We started keeping a written log of every failure, and that log became the internal checklist the boutique still uses today. By autumn 2021 the collection had settled into a core of about forty styles, all of which had passed at least six months of personal wear-testing before appearing on the floor. Regulars started referring friends, and the fitting-session format grew out of those early conversations where we would simply sit with a customer and talk through what was and was not working in her current wardrobe.

How to Build an Athleisure Capsule Wardrobe That Works
The idea of a capsule wardrobe has been applied to office clothes and weekend wear for years, but it translates surprisingly well to activewear. The goal is the same: a small number of pieces that work together, cover most situations, and do not require a decision every morning. For women who train regularly and move through a full day after the gym, getting this right saves both money and wardrobe space.

The gym-to-street concept sounds straightforward until you are standing outside a fitness studio in October with a wet sports bra and nowhere to change. Making it work in practice requires thinking about layering, fabric weight, and the specific temperature range of an autumn morning in a Japanese city, where the gap between a heated train and the street outside can be fifteen degrees.

The fabric composition printed on an activewear label is one of the most useful pieces of information on the garment, and one of the least read. Understanding what the percentages mean in practice, not in marketing language, helps you make better buying decisions and avoid the most common disappointments: pilling, transparency, waistband failure, and colour loss.

Do I need to book a fitting session in advance, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome Tuesday through Sunday, but the 30-minute fitting sessions and the personal style edit need to be booked ahead. We keep two walk-in slots free each morning, but they fill up quickly on weekends. Booking through the form on the site is the most reliable way to secure a time.
How do I know which size to order if I am buying without trying on?
Each product listing includes a size note based on our own wear-testing. If a cut runs small or has a narrow waistband, it is flagged. For anything you are unsure about, send a message through the contact form with your usual measurements and we will advise before you commit.
